Video Marketing Tip:
Before getting started in video, it helps to have your brand figured out or know the message you want to portray. Dialing in your branding will certainly help your scripting and marketing strategy. Here are some things you may want to consider.
What do you stand for?
Who is your audience?
What do you want people to perceive you as?
What is one adjective that summarizes your personality?
The key to coming up with endless real estate video ideas is to dial in your brand’s story. If you need more information on how to determine your content strategy or “theme”, check out this article, 2 Things Needed For A Killer Branding Strategy
1. The About Video
Your about video is one of your most important core real estate videos to have. This video has nothing to do with how many houses you sold or how long you have been in the business. Instead it focuses on WHY you are in the business and how you relate to others. The main objective of this video is to give people insight as to who you are and how you conduct business.
In my opinion, this is the most powerful real estate video to have in your library because it allows people to get an idea to your personality. When you get a lead or even a referral, many times the first thing a “lead” will do is check you out online. They want to get an idea as to who you are, what you look like, and most importantly if they can picture you representing them in their largest investment.
This agent is a mom who happens to sell real estate. She incorporates that into all of her marketing.
2. Local Point Of Interest Community Video
People don’t hire Realtors, they hire local experts. Every community has its unique characteristics that only a Realtor would know, but it’s how you relate points of interest into your brand as Denisse did in this video here. Denisse had her daughters birthday party at a camel farm in San Diego and she made a point of interest video during it! This allowed her to carry her “mama” brand message through the story while also creating a marketing opportunity.
How many real estate video ideas can you think of if you were to focus on local points of interest? How many things are in your market that you can feature?
Local Point Of Interest real estate videos is great content for marketing your database and to optimize for search.
3. Local Business Interview Video
Denisse carried her series on doing a business owner interview at a coffee shop, but a unique one that kids love too. This is a coffee shop and a cat rescue. People can actually adopt the cats that walk around the coffee shop, which makes it a cool place for kids! She actually adopted some cats from the video and the owner loves Denisse!
How many real estate video ideas can you think of for your local community? Which businesses relate to your brand?
The reason I love the business owner videos is because of the relationship building opportunity. Small business owners represent 5-8% of any population and they are very entrepreneurial and some of the best referral sources relationships you can create. This strategy forces you to create relationships with your local community businesses and leaders as you create mini tv commercials for them.
4. Local Neighborhood Community Video
A local neighborhood real estate video is another example of positioning yourself as a local expert within your community. This agent’s brand name is the Dream Homes Team, therefore every video they do starts off with him “dreaming”. Their neighborhood series is called “Dream Neighborhoods” and it ties into their overall brand message.
How many real estate video ideas can you come up with if you were to create a neighborhood series? Which neighborhoods relate to your brand?
Neighborhood real estate videos are great staying in front of your database and optimizing for search on You Tube.
5. Client Case Study/Testimonial Video
Posting just listed and just sold on Facebook is dooshy. Do you know what you are really saying when you post Just Listed and Just Sold content? You’re telling people you just made more money than they did today. You also risk your client feeling like a piece of meat. Think about the your clients that are on your Facebook profile. Would you want to be just “closed”?
Start telling the story behind the people you are helping. Case studies allow you to to accomplish the same goal, but to do it more so in telling a story. Instead of saying “Just Sold”, what if you instead said… “This 39 year old single mother just bought a house with no money down in her desired neighborhood, here’s how….”
HGTV has already done the work for you. They have proven that people like seeing content about the buying or selling process. Start telling the story about the people you helped vs. how much money you made. Make it about them and not you!

Meet Bob The Banker. Bob likes doing things differently and is a loan officer. He has a really cool program that helps people buy and sell at the same time with guaranteed financing. Instead of getting up in front of a white board and explaining the process, he shared the story of how it helped REAL people in real life instead. Which do you think will get more engagement?
6. Real Estate Content Videos
Real estate content is boring, which is exactly why we use green screen to make it more exciting. If you are going to talk about real estate, make it fun! I don’t believe people want to log onto social media and be preached to about buying or selling real estate. We like using green screen for any type of real estate content to liven it up a bit.
I recommend treating real estate content differently than other branding type of videos. These kinds of videos can work great for lead generation and retargeting campaigns on Facebook.
Emilio has a buyer and seller 4 step series on his website. He uses this to educate potential buyers and sellers. The nice part about real estate content is that you can use it over and over again for marketing purposes.
How many real estate video ideas can you come up with if you were to create content? How would you relate it so that it’s memorable?
7. Real Estate Listing Videos
Real estate listing videos are great way to stand out. Let’s face it, sellers expect a video in exchange for your 5-6% listing agreement. However with so many agents doing real estate videos on their listings now, how can you beat them to the punch! Start creating a storyline of the house so it’s more engaging on social media.
In this video, we used a Ferris Bueller’s day off type of concept. Dad falls asleep and the kids have a party while he is passed out! This listing needed to generate some buzz around it as it was sitting stale on the market.

How about thinking outside the box. Sometimes you may want to do something totally different. Meet Roxie Knight. Roxie wanted to take a very boring subject of Title insurance and have a little fun with it. So she decided to do a Jeopardy themed game show and have some fun with it!
Roxie loves doing things outside the norm and uses it to her advantage to keep her brand on top of mind with her database and local community.
